Did you grow up watching style icon Fran Drescher nanny three kids for six seasons? Well, you are in luck, because the cast has reunited. The entire cast reunited on Zoom for a virtual table read. The thirty-minute episode, posted on YouTube, included the entire cast reading through the pilot episode, along with a live performance of the theme song.
The Nanny, which ran from 1993 to 1999, is about a woman who ends up on the steps of a rich widower's house selling makeup but gets hired to nanny his three children. Fran Drescher, who plays the Nanny, teamed up with Sony Pictures to organize the virtual table read. She wanted to raise morale in these tough times. "Laughter is the best medicine! So, in these challenging times, Peter and I thought, wouldn't it be great if we pulled together the original cast of The Nanny for a virtual read of the pilot," she said, referring to the show's co- creator, Peter Marc Jacobson. "It's a once in a lifetime Pandemic Performance for our fans around the world who are currently stressing in isolation and could use a real upper! It sure has given each of us a lift and we hope it does for you as well." After the table read, it led many fans to start speculating about a reboot, but the cast remains tip-lipped about a reboot.
