5 things to know before your senior year of college

So you’re about to graduate. Congratulations. The finish line is near, but you’re not quite there yet. As you approach the last exams of your life, take these things into consideration.

1. Finish strong

This is not the time to let up on the gas. It’s easy to apply yourself less and less when you feel like you’ve almost made it, but that’s all the reason to do your best. Don’t let all the effort you’ve put in during college stop now. Worst case scenario, you fail that capstone class because you got lazy. When you look back, you’ll appreciate that you finished in a strong manner.

2. Get some rest

Make sure you’re getting an adequate amount of sleep. This can apply to any year of school, but this could be the most stressful time. Be well rested so you can maintain the necessary energy to succeed.

3. Keep your sanity

It’s important to have something in your life that allows you to stay cool and collected when things become stressful. For some that may be meditation, for others it could be simply talking to a friend. Whatever it may be, stay ahead of the stress. Take a deep breath, and remain in control of your situation.

4. Network

Of course the school part is important, but now more than ever, is the best time to make connections that can help you in the real world. Networking is becoming more important everyday as the digital industry grows. It’s important that we know people in different areas as we try to kick down doors leading to new opportunities.

5. Whatever happens isn’t the end of the world

Whatever happens in school doesn't define you. You're more than a degree or a GPA. Continue to strive to be the best person you can.
