Thursday, September 5th, rapper Nicki Minaj went to Twitter to announce she has “decided to retire & have a family.” She tweeted:
This announcement comes as a surprise being that Minaj just released her hit “Hot Girl Summer” with Megan Thee Stallion, and her recent single “Megatron.”
After sending her fans and social media into a frenzy, she went to Twitter later that day to tweet, “I’m still right here. Still madly in love with you guys & you know that. In hindsight, this should’ve been a Queen Radio discussion & it will be. I promise u guys will be happy. No guests, just us talking about everything. The tweet was abrupt & insensitive, I apologize babe."
Many people believe that this could be a possible publicity stunt, while others are saying they think she might be serious.
Minaj has been the dominant female face in hip-hop for over a decade. Whether or not she is retiring from music, she still has many endorsements that will keep her on top. Besides her own premium drink ‘Myx Moscato,’ Minaj just landed a deal with the luxury clothing brand ‘Fendi’, that will drop October 2019.
