Dreamers. Thinkers. Doers.
That’s the motto that students at the University of Memphis follow. At Meeman 901 Strategies, we like to consider ourselves the doers. We do strategic communication work in public relations, advertising, and creative mass media.
This semester, students involved in Meeman 901 Strategies are working for practicum credit as account leads, executives, designers, strategists and more under the direction of firm director Corinne Baldwin, graduate assistant advisor Kix Patterson and faculty advisor Kim Marks. Our clients this fall include OutMemphis, St. Jude Up ‘til Dawn and the University of Memphis Department of Journalism & Strategic Media.
OutMemphis
One of our clients this semester for Meeman 901 Strategies is OutMemphis, a non-profit organization empowering, connecting, educating and advocating for the LGBT community in the Mid-South. Our team, led by Gaby Hairston, is working to create memorable and strategic content for OutMemphis’s film festival, “OutFlix.”
Thus far, our team has worked on a social media graphic for the OutFlix Preview Party, and we are currently composing a 30-page program for the festival.
Up ‘til Dawn
Another one of Meeman 901 Strategies’ clients this semester is the University of Memphis’s organization for St. Jude Up ‘til Dawn. This is a student-run organization that raises money and awareness for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
Two of our staff members (firm director Corinne Baldwin and account lead Jerrod Smith) are involved as executive board members of Up ‘til Dawn. This has given Meeman 901 Strategies a direct connection to the organization. Our team is working on social media graphics and public relations efforts for Up ‘til Dawn to help promote its events and fundraising efforts.
University of Memphis Department of Journalism & Strategic Media
Meeman 901 Strategies is also excited to be working right at home in the Department of Journalism & Strategic Media. Led by account lead Imani Woolfolk, this team has been generating a content calendar for our internal public relations efforts, while also developing new, lasting content for our social media pages.
Additionally, the JRSM team is working on staff spotlights to update our website with our Fall 2019 staff. Using headshots taken by our photographer/designer Denzel Alexander, designer Taylor Thompson is highlighting all of the things that make our team unique and successful.
